Ketamine Therapy London
Private, consultant-led ketamine infusion therapy for treatment-resistant depression, PTSD, and chronic pain. Delivered within a medically governed clinical setting in Hampstead and Knightsbridge, London.
Important Clinical Notice
Ketamine therapy is a specialist medical treatment. It is not suitable for everyone. All treatment at Neuro Reset Clinic is preceded by a full consultant psychiatric assessment, comprehensive medical screening, and written informed consent. A consultant-led assessment is required before any treatment is offered.
Ketamine therapy London — Neuro Reset Clinic offers private IV ketamine infusion therapy for adults with treatment-resistant conditions. Our therapy is delivered by consultant psychiatrists in dedicated clinical suites, within a fully medically governed framework that prioritises safety, transparency, and individual clinical outcomes.
How Ketamine Therapy Works
Ketamine is a dissociative anaesthetic with a unique mechanism of action in psychiatry. When administered in sub-anaesthetic intravenous doses, it acts on NMDA glutamate receptors — a different neurobiological pathway from conventional antidepressants — producing rapid and often profound effects on mood, cognition, and pain perception.
This speed of action is one of ketamine's most clinically significant properties. While SSRIs and SNRIs can take four to six weeks to show effect (if they work at all), ketamine can produce measurable antidepressant responses within hours of the first infusion in many patients.

Conditions Treated with Ketamine Therapy
Private ketamine therapy at our London clinic is used for adults with the following treatment-resistant conditions, subject to eligibility assessment:
Treatment Resistant Depression (TRD)
For patients who have not responded to at least two adequate antidepressant trials.
PTSD & Complex PTSD (cPTSD)
Treatment-resistant post-traumatic presentations that have not responded to evidence-based therapies.
Bipolar Depression
Selected cases, assessed carefully given the specific clinical considerations of bipolar spectrum presentations.
Chronic Primary Pain
Selected cases where neuropathic or central sensitisation mechanisms are present and have not responded to conventional analgesics.
Anxiety with Refractory Depression
Where significant anxiety co-occurs with treatment-resistant depression that has not responded to standard approaches.
Safety & Governance: What Makes Private Treatment Different
The safety of ketamine therapy is directly dependent on the clinical environment and governance in which it is delivered. Neuro Reset Clinic operates to the following standards:
Consultant-Only Assessment
Eligibility is assessed by a GMC-registered consultant psychiatrist. We do not offer ketamine therapy without this clinical evaluation.
Contraindication Screening
Active psychosis, uncontrolled hypertension, and other contraindications are rigorously screened before any treatment is approved.
Continuous Physiological Monitoring
Blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen saturation are monitored throughout every infusion by trained clinical staff.
Post-Course Clinical Review
A formal outcome review is conducted by the treating consultant after the course. Validated outcome measures are used.
What Happens During Private Ketamine Therapy
Each infusion session follows a structured clinical protocol:
-
You arrive at the clinic and are settled in the dedicated infusion suite by a trained clinical nurse.
-
Baseline vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation) are recorded before the infusion begins.
-
A precisely calibrated dose of ketamine is administered intravenously over approximately 40–60 minutes. Vital signs are continuously monitored throughout.
-
A post-infusion recovery period follows. You are observed by clinical staff until you are assessed as ready for discharge.
-
A responsible adult must accompany you home after each session. You must not drive or operate machinery on the day of treatment.

Private ketamine therapy involves intravenous administration of ketamine at a licensed private clinic, led by consultant physicians. It is distinct from NHS-funded treatment (which is currently unavailable for this indication) and provides a more personalised, consultant-directed pathway with shorter waiting times and dedicated clinical attention.
Conventional antidepressants target the serotonin system and typically take four to six weeks to show effect. Ketamine acts on NMDA glutamate receptors — a distinct neurobiological mechanism — and can produce antidepressant effects within hours. This rapid action makes it particularly valuable for patients who have not responded to multiple previous medication trials.
Ketamine has a well-established safety profile spanning decades of clinical use in anaesthesia. When administered in a properly governed clinic setting with pre-treatment screening and continuous monitoring, the risks are well understood and managed. It is not appropriate for all patients — which is why mandatory eligibility assessment is non-negotiable at our clinic.
A standard induction course consists of six infusion sessions delivered over two to three weeks. Each session lasts approximately 40–60 minutes, plus a post-infusion recovery period. A consultant review is conducted after the course to assess response and plan any further treatment.
